HOUSTON -- If you ve ever driven in Montrose, you ve probably felt the potholes along the way. Leaders in Montrose say it has been decades since the roads there have been fixed, and they want the city to do something about it.

KHOU 11 News partners at CultureMap report that Montrose leaders took on ReBuild Houston s priority list at a recent meeting. According to leaders, fixing roads in Montrose isn t a priority to the city.

Those fighting for better roads in Montrose say the driving conditions have become dangerous. They want the City of Houston to show that same concern.

Maybe it s just they can t access the right lane to work on it because of the traffic? Yeah, they re awful, said driver Chase Hawkins.

Leaders pushing for an update to portions of Westheimer, Alabama and some of the pothole-ridden residential streets want people to join the crusade.

The Montrose District is asking area residents to tweet them pictures of the potholes. You can find the district @MontroseHTX and tag photos #MMDpothole . You can also report the potholes on the city s 311 app.

It s crazy. The little jingle on my kid s car seat, every quarter of a mile, it s like bling bling bling, said driver Ashley Walden.

KHOU got in touch with a spokesman for Houston Public Works on Friday evening. He said he couldn t provide maintenance plans for the Montrose area until after the weekend.
