HOUSTON - Each year for over a decade, KHOU 11 rings in the holidays by collecting toys to benefit those served by The Salvation Army. This year, KHOU 11 invites you to be a Secret Santa to a child in need by donating to our annualtoy drive.
Donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted at the KHOU 11 studio, located at 1945 Allen Parkway through Friday, December 21. You can also drop them off at participating partner locations:Randalls, IHOP and Mac Haik Chevrolet.
Collectively, there are just over 75 locations in Houston and surrounding areas to make a donation. Look for the giant toy box set up featuring KHOU 11 Meteorologist David Paul.
This year, the station will also host two special toy drop-off events with David Paul, The Salvation Army Harbor Light Choir and more. The events are scheduled for Friday, December 7, from 4-8 p.m. at Sugar Land Town Square near City Hall, andFriday, December 14, from 4-8 p.m. at CITYCENTRE plaza on Town & Country Boulevard.
Since it began in 2001, KHOU 11 s toy drive has grown to become one of Houston s largest toy collection efforts, generating nearly 25,000 gifts for area families in 2011. Donations collected at KHOU 11 and its partner locations will be distributed through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. For over 120 years, The Salvation Army has provided Christmas assistance for disadvantaged children and seniors in our community.
