LEAGUE CITY, Texas During the past 10 years, the appraised value of homesteaded, single-family homes in League City has gone up by about 24 percent.
In that same period, the taxes a typical League City homeowner would pay on a median-priced home have increased by about 6 percent, according to data collected from the county s Central Appraisal District.
In 2002, the median value of a single-family, homesteaded house was about $148,400. Accounting for the standard homestead deduction, the typical homeowner of a home worth $148,400 would pay about $3,876 to the four main taxing authorities in League City Clear Creek Independent School District, the city of League City, Galveston County and a Galveston County Road and Flood tax.
