HOUSTON -- If you haven t already gotten the list from your kids, no worries. KHOU 11 News knows what the hottest toys are this year, because we went to the experts.
Topping the list this year are Leap Pads, Fijit Friends and a brand-new take on your red furry friend, Elmo.
No more Tickle Me Elmo, this is the rock and roll Elmo where he plays the drums, and he has sensor motions so if you walk by, he plays the drums, said Walmart co-manager Rhonda Lopez.
Lopez, who works at the Walmart at Silber Rd. and I- 10, says her store is already experiencing the holiday rush.
Especially with the layaway plan. We ve had a lot of people coming in shopping, putting things on layaway, said Lopez.
The new Leap Pad, which is similar to an iPad, is so popular the store can t keep it in stock.
It s for toddlers. It s a built-in camera it has games it even has downloadable apps for it, said Lopez. An alternative for the Leap Pad is the InnoTAB. It s similar to the Leap Pad it s an e-reader, motion, games, videos, photos, and downloads.
The Leap Pad runs around $99 and the InnoTab costs about $79.
Other popular items selling fast this year at Walmart include the FurReal Cookie Pie and the Star Wars Lightsaber.
A great item for little boys is the Star Wars Lightsaber. It lights up, makes noises, and it s on roll back for $29.88, said Lopez.
For the girls, the Lalaloopsy Silly Hair Doll and a brand-new Easy Bake Oven are expected to be hot sellers.
