FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas Three large-scale grow houses in the Richmond area were put out of business earlier this month.

Agents with The Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force raided the houses on August 9 and seized over 1,000 plants worth about $2 million.

Five suspects from Houston were busted on charges of possession of marijuana. Sin Van Tran, 28, Hieu Ngoc Nguyen, 43, Maithi Ngoc Bui, 31, and Kimmy Vu Bui, 17, have been released from jail after posting $30,000 bond each.

Nghia Trong Le, 34, remains in the Fort Bend County Jail on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.

Investigators say the suspects had set up sophisticated hydroponic pot growing operations inside homes in the Lakemont, Parkway Lakes and Grand Mission Estates subdivisions.

All three homes are located near the Fort Bend Tollway and the Grand Parkway.
