FORTWORTH, Texas -- A massive apartment fire has left several people injured in East Fort Worth.
The flames broke out around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at the La Jolla Terrace Apartments on Alexis Avenue, near Interstate 30 and Eastchase Parkway. The firewas put out about an hour later.
Matt Zavadsky with MedStar says four adults have minor injuries they sustained while evacuating the building.None of their injuries were fire-related.
Two people jumped from the second story to escape. Those with injuries were taken to local hospitals.
Earlier reports showed six people were injured and another was possibly trapped, but Zavadsky says all residents have since been accounted for.
Anita Foster with the Red Cross tells News 8 that as many as three buildings with 24 families were affected by the fire. Teams with the Red Cross are investigating.
