HOUSTON A 79-year-old woman was killed last Friday in a traffic accident at 10000 Almeda Genoa in southeast Houston, police said.

Investigators said the victim was driving a white Toyota Camry westbound on Almeda Genoa at about 9 p.m. when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle veered out of its lane and struck a traffic signal pole.

The victim was taken to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital where she died.

No other persons were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Police said it is believed the victim may have suffered a medical condition that caused the accident.

Her identity was not released.
