PASADENA, Texas -- A Pasadena couple has been charged with murder in the death of a 2-year-old boy.

On November 17, 2012 residents at the Empire Village Complex in Pasadena saw the boy on the sidewalk in nothing more than a diaper.

The man who was supposed to be watching him stood overhead, screaming for help.

I ll never forget it, I tell you, said neighbor Joanne Moore. It was terrible, it really was.

That adult turned out to be Chad Wisnieski, now 29. For three weeks he had been staying with the boy s mother, Christina Chadwick, who is also now 29 year old.

Court documents revealed that Wisnieski would watch Chadwick s three young children in their upstairs apartment while she worked. The boy s death had always been a mystery.

But this week, as prosecutors charged the couple, neighbors said they felt that justice had finally been served.

Everybody thought he was guilty, said Lillian Guzman. I don t know about the mom.

Prosecutors called it one of the worst cases of child abuse they had ever seen. They said doctors discovered more than 200 bruises on the boy, as well as teeth marks and internal injuries.

They also said the couple tried passing off blame on the boy s older sister, claiming she hit him.

Though neighbors said the couple moved away a month ago, the anger and pain was still fresh.

It s wrong, said neighbor Robert Tyler.
