HOUSTON -- Houston police say a second man has been charged in a shooting death that led up to last week s robbery at a House of Pies restaurant.
Donald Nealey, 19, is charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery. He was taken into custody Monday by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. Marquis Davis, 19, was arrested last Friday and faces the same charges.
Both men are accused in a fatal shooting in an apartment complex on West Sam Houston Parkway South.
According to the Houston Police Department, it was around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday when Nealey and Davis gunned down Stanly Babu Kumbanattel, 31, at an apartment complex on W. SamHouston Parkway. Police believe less than an hour later, the duo held up customers inside the House of Pies restaurant on Westheimer Road.
Shots were fired and customers were frightened, but no injuries were reported in the robbery.
Police were flagged down and managed to arrest Davis near the scene. Nealey managed to get away, however.
Witnesses at the apartment complex provided enough info to lead investigators to both Davis and Nealey, police said. Nealey was then tracked down and taken into custody without incident.
