HOUSTON - Police in south Houston said one person was killed in a drive-by shooting in front of a home in the South Acres community.
The shooting happened on Dumore Drive at Glen Hollow Drive around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Houston Police Department.
Witnesses told HPD officers someone in a green sedan drove in front of the home and opened fire on several men who were outside talking. One of the men was struck several times and was sent to Ben Taub Hospital where he later died.
Police said about 17 shots were fired during the drive-by. No other injuries were reported.
Homicide detectives said the incident may have been related to a shooting earlier in the day just a few blocks away.
A detailed description of the gunman wasn't available, but police said several men were in the suspect's car.
