ROBINSON, Ill. Authorities have released more photos of an inmate who escaped from custody after walking away from a work crew on Friday.

Jared Carter, 30, escaped while he was cutting grass on the grounds of the Robinson Correctional Center. Police said the tattoos will be hard for Carter to conceal and hope the images will lead to more tips.

The crew was supervised and working outside the walls of the minimum security prison, about 110 miles southeast of Champaign near the Indiana border.

Two new photos released Monday night show some of Carter s tattoos. The first one is a very large bat tattoo just below his neck. The next two tattoos are both on his forearm and a fourth is on the left side of his neck.

In a statement Sunday, a spokesman for the Illinois Department of Corrections says investigators are continuing to explore all potential factors in Carter s whereabouts.

Carter is serving time for burglary convictions, including some in the Metro East. State officials say they don t believe he s armed, but say he may be dangerous.

On Friday, he struck a prison officer who was searching for him.
