HOUSTON It was a packed house at the Methodist Training Center Tuesday as the Houston Texans opened their training camp practice to the public.

A record 5,219 fans showed up to watch their favorite team in action.

Fans also had the opportunity to get autographs and take photos with the players.

They pretty much bring memories that I got to meet the player, you know, and got something they signed, and I just like to collect them and hang them on my wall, said Chris Lemus.

Another fan, Robert Smith, plans to raffle off his signed fire helmets to raise money for the four families of the Houston firefighters killed two months ago.

It s a great cause, Smith said.

Tuesday was the largest turnout ever at a Texans practice.
