HOUSTON The Aransas County judge who was recorded beating his 16-year-old daughter will find out Wednesday if the infamous Internet video will have another consequence: the loss of his 10-year-old daughter.

Judge William Adams ex-wife, Hallie Adams, is seeking full custody of their youngest daughter. The couple divorced after 22 years and long before the video went public. Their daughter, Hillary Adams, secretly videotaped the encounter with her fatherseven years ago and posted it on YouTube last month. It has been viewed more than 6 million times, resulted in world-wide condemnation and death threats against the judge, and has him on leave from his job while he is under judicial review.

In addition to alleging years of physical and emotional abuse, Hallie Adams also claims her ex-husband has a history of alcohol and substance abuse. Her petition filed in Aransas County alleges that he suffers from mental illness and drug addiction, that he has developed addictions to various drugs, including hydrocodone, valium, morphine and methadone. She also claims he briefly enrolled in a detox center in Stephenville, Texas, in 2007.

She also accuses the judge of being promiscous, and said that he is fearful of anything regarding technology, especially computers, and that he suffers from paranoia and thinks he can read minds.

It s just a run-of-the-mill, he-said-she-said, kind of case, said Hallie Adams attorney, Brett Pritchard.

The judge s attorney, William Dudley, called the filing little more than a poorly written autobiography of her (Hallie Adams) unfulfilled relationship with her ex-husband.

A ruling on the custody dispute is expected Wednesday.

Judge Adams remains on leave, with a visiting judge hearing his cases in Aransas County.
