HOUSTON Authorities are trying to identify a man whose body was found in a burned out home in Fifth Ward early Saturday.

The fire broke out at a home on Terry Street at Bunton around 4 a.m. A fire department is nearby, so firefighters arrived quickly to the scene. It took them nearly 40 minutes to extinguish the blaze, and when it was over, they found a man s body in theliving room.

The home was boarded up and neighbors said a homeless man would frequently stay there.

I just wonder who it is or did they have family or anything, said neighbor Chanteay Romero.

Arson investigators and HPD homicide were called to the scene to see if any foul play was involved. They are awaiting autopsy reports to determine the victim s cause of death.
