HOUSTON - Police said three teens who broke into a northwest Houston home overnight were greeted by a homeowner with a gun.

The break-in was reported on Springwell Drive.

Houston police said one of the teens went into the home through the garage, and a barking dog woke up the homeowners. The homeowner got his gun and managed to hold one of the suspects while waiting for police to arrive.

Police said as they pulled up to the home, they spotted the other two suspects riding away on stolen bicycles. They, too, were arrested. In their possession police said they found a knife and a fake gun.

Police said a stolen pickup truck was parked outside the home as well.

In all, three were captured, but it s believed three others got away. According to police, the trio may be part of a group of responsible for a series of break-ins in the area.
