PASADENA, Texas -- Step inside the living room at the Wright's house and you'll meet one desperate family.

We just need a liver, said Vanessa Cordell.

The liver is for her dad, 55-year-old Pat Wright.

His lifelong sweetheart Barbara can't bear to see him fade away.

It's hard for me to try to comprehend life without him, said Barbara Wright. He's all I've ever known.

The demand for organs is so high, doctors told Wright's family that his best chance for survival was if they found a liver.

Vanessa decided it was time to get up and do something.

He's sicker than I've ever seen him, she said. I just can't stand it and I just can't stand by and do nothing.

So, the Wright family is putting up flyers, handing out business cards and even created Facebook page to find a non-living donor.

They just wish there was another way.

I had a friend who was on life support and I said I hate to ask this, I don't ever want to make you feel uncomfortable but I'm desperate for my dad, said Cordell.

Pat was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and Cirrhosis years ago and now only 10 percent of his liver is working.

Your stomach gets extended and full of fluid and your lung gets full of fluid, said Pat Wright. You can't breathe. You can't do a lot of stuff you used to do.

His family has the money, they have the doctors, they just need the liver.

Inside I know that it's got to be a miracle because I know it's the only way that he is going to be able to survive, said Barbara Wright.

The qualifications to help Pat Wright are blood type O, preferably over five and under age 80, and a non-living donor.
