HOUSTON -- The driver who led Houston police on a chase on the north side of town overnight was caught after he made a wrong turn and hit a dead end, officers said.

During the chase, police said the man threw money and a gun out of his Mercedes.

It all started shortly before midnight Thursday. An officer with the Houston Police Department said he tried to pull over the suspect for a traffic violation along W. Tidwell Road near Yale Street.

The man allegedly refused to pull over and was seen throwing items out of his car, which HPD officers were able to later recover.

The man came to a stop after hitting a dead end on Arlington Street. HPD said he faces felony evading charges as well as possible other drug related charges.
