HOUSTON Houston police are asking for the public s assistance in identifying a man wanted in the sexual assault of an elderly woman on May 14.

Police said the 67-year-old victim was at her home in the 2700 block of Wallingford when she heard a knock on the door shortly after midnight.

I cracked open the door and he pushed open the door and came in, the victim said. He knocked me on the ground, tore my gown in the front.

She tried to fight the man off as he hit her around her head.

She said she tried to talk him out of raping her.

[I said] there was no need to hurt me, or anybody else, and that I was old enough to be his grandmother, she said.

She said the man told her, I don t know why I m doing this.

He said he had been watching me and the people around here, as far as older women and people, she said.

The victim thought she was going to have a heart attack and even warned the man about her condition.

I have heart conditions, and I had a couple of strokes and I have COPD, she said. I had to take nitroglycerin. He did give me my nitroglycerin.

Her attacker left after 45 Minutes, leaving behind terrifying memories for the victim.

I used to sit out here at night, relax in my chair. I knew all my neighbors. There was no fear, now there is fear, she said.

The victim said she has lost her sense of security and now has a hard time sleeping.

It affected me emotionally and physically. I feel like my peace and joy have been stolen, she said.

The suspect is said to be in his early-30s and stands about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He has a slim build, and a thin moustache and a goatee. He wore plaid green shorts, a black T-shirt, a blue do-rag and carried a green back pack at the time of the offense. Investigators believe he may live in the apartment complex or nearby.

Anyone with information on the suspect s identity is urged to contact the HPD Special Crimes Division at 713-308-1180 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
