NEEDVILLE, Texas -- One Houston-area vice principal had a rough night, but it was all for a good cause.

He spent the night on top of his school -- Needville Elementary.

Mr. Calbert was making good on a promise he made to students earlier in the year, that if if they collected more pennies to help leukemia patients than last year, he d spend the night on the roof.

The kids needed $8,100, but they managed to raise more than $8,400 this year.

The principal set up a tent on a portion of the school s roof. Mr. Calbert says the biggest problem was the bugs, but that didn t keep the smile off his face while he made good on his promise.
