GALVESTON The U.S. Coast Guard Sunday called off a two-day search for four fishermen missing in the Gulf of Mexico.

The search began about 3:30 a.m. Friday after the Coast Guard received an emergency beacon signal that located the sunken fishing vessel about 115 miles southeast of Galveston.

The Coast Guard found one crewman and hoisted him to safety and took him to a nearby oil rig before resuming the search.
