HOUSTON-- A 17-year-old high school student died Saturday after a racing accident in west Houston, according to police.
Police said Jesus Brito-Becerra was racing another teenager his black Camaro at 10 p.m. down Briar Forest Street near Eldridge Parkway when he lost control of the vehicle.
The Camaro slid sideways on the wet road and skidded into the median before hitting two trees, police said.
Brito-Becerra died at the scene of the accident. The second teenage driver, Karim Bassam Nabulsi, also 17, was driving a Mercedes Benz and has been charged with racing on a highway, according to court documents.
