HOUSTON Houston police need the public s help identifying a woman whose skeletal remains were found on November 30, 2011.

The remains were found by a crew hired to clean a vacant lot at 5005 Neches, which is near the Eastex Freeway and 610 North Loop interchange.

The remains were scattered and remnants of clothing found nearby appeared to have been in the lot for several months. Some of the bone fragments displayed signs of having been burned. In addition,a silver metal cross with the Lord s Prayer in Spanish on it was found in the area.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined the woman was African American, between 35 to 55 years old and between 5 feet 1 and 5 feet 7 inches tall.

Her teeth were in poor condition.

The woman s weight could not be determined and her cause of death was also unknown.
