HOUSTON Missing child alerts were issued Thursday night as police searched for a Houston father and his four children who have not been seen since a police chase Wednesday evening.
The children were last seen in Rosenberg, Texas.
Texas Eqqusearch volunteers joined the search south of Sealy Thursday evening where the family s wrecked truck was found.
We ll be here all night if we have to, saidTim Miller. Eqqusearch will use its drone plane to search the rural area from the sky.
Noe Soto Aranda, 31,is facing felonycharges of endangering a child, assaulting a family member and evading arrest.
The whole thingstarted around 5 p.m.Wednesday along the Southwest Freeway at Club Creek when citizens witnessed a couple fighting inside a Ford F-150 and contacted police. They said the man was hitting the woman, who was driving.
Ivonne Perez, who is eight months pregnant, pulled the truck over when she saw a police car s flashing lights.
That s when Aranda pushed her out of the truck, jumped into the driver s seat and took off.
The couple s four children, who ranged in age from 5 to 10 years old, were in the backseat.
Arandaheaded south on the Southwest Freeway toward Rosenberg at speeds of up to 110 mph.Police didn t want to pursue too closely and ended up losing the truck.
A DPS trooper spotted it near Sealy around 8 p.m. and gave chase. Aranda crashed his brand newtruck near FM 3013 and Oil Field Road, then fled on foot.
Police don t believe his children were in the truck when it crashed, but they did find children s shoes and clothing in the truck.
Pereztold police they were arguing becauseArandahadbeen drinking all day and she didn t want him to drive. She said she doesn t believe he would harm the children, so police decided not to issue an Amber Alert.
Right now the Amber Alert, the criteria doesn t meet yet, so hopefully he s going to drive home, either to his apartment, or to Pasadena where his sister is at, and we ll be able to find him, but right now, we don t feel the kids are in any danger, because it is their biological father. Sgt. Ron Borza explained.
Anyone with information concerning the missing children is asked to contactthe Houston Police Department Missing Persons Unit at 713-731-5223.
