HOUSTON Astros right-fielder Hunter Pence has been selected to play in his second career All-Star Game, Major League Baseball announced Sunday.
Pence, who leads the Astros in several offensive categories, will be the team s lone representative.
Pence is hitting .323 with 10 home runs and 57 RBIs. He s tied for sixth in the NL in RBIs, fifth in total bases and fourth in batting with runners in scoring position.
The right fielder s 23-game hit streak earlier this season is the second-longest in the league in 2011.
The MLB All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, July 12 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.
