Houston Two women crashed into a southeast Houston church Sunday evening attempting to flee another driver during a possible case of road rage, according to Houston police.

Police said a woman and her female passenger were traveling westbound on Belfort around 9:15 p.m. when they approached the Scott Street intersection.

She honked her horn at a car sitting at a green light which possibly angered the other driver, according to police.

The two vehicles were speeding down Belfort when the other driver suddenly swerved toward the woman s car.

She veered off to try and avoid getting sideswiped when she lost control of her vehicle. She ran off the road, hit a curb at a church parking lot, went airborne and crashed into the wall of the church.

The driver had to be pried out of the vehicle and was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The passenger sustained only minor bumps and bruises.

The women could not provide police with an accurate description of the other vehicle.
