CONROE, Texas Authorities are looking for a suspect who attacked a female jogger in Conroe Saturday morning, deputies said.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff s Office, deputies responded to a report of an assault at 9 a.m. in the 11900 block of Robin Lane.
The 27-year-old victim is the mother of four daughters. She told us she always runs the same route.
He came out of nowhere, she said. He got me from behind. I don't know where he came from. There were no vehicles around so he must've been in the woods.
When deputies arrived, a female jogger said she had been running through the area while listening to her iPod when someone grabbed her by her ponytail and hit her in the face.
The victim said she was forced down to the ground, face down, while someone got on top of her. She said she fought back, and was able to roll over onto her back and fight the attacker. The victim said he tried to drag her in a wooded trail.
The dog heard me screaming and crying, said the victim. A brown pit bull came and chased after him. He took off running in the woods.
Deputies said she was then able to break free and get away from her attacker.
My leggings were completely ripped. My sports bra, my undershirt was ripped off, said the victim.
She was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries. Long time neighbors said they are on edge.
You don't do this to people, said longtime neighbor Sissy Johnson. You don't do it to a woman.
Everybody is nervous, said neighbor Danielle Isabell. It's just we can't believe it.
Until the suspect is caught, everyone is living in fear.
I have never seen this man before in my life, and I don't care to see him again unless he's behind bars, said the victim.
Deputies said the suspect is described as a dark colored male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 230 pounds, short hair, and appeared to have a tattoo or dark marking on the left side of his neck.
At the time of the assault, the suspect was reportedly wearing a blue shirt with New York on it, and black sweat pants. Reportedly, the suspect had an earring in his right ear.
The Montgomery County Sheriff s Office is asking anyone with information to call (281) 577-8929 or Montgomery County Crime Stoppers.
