HOUSTON - An officer with the Houston Police Department crashed into another driver late Monday while responding to a call on the west side of town.

Officers said the officer had his lights and siren on while responding to a call near the intersection of Dairy Ashford and Memorial Drive. The officer hit a female driver in an SUV, who allegedly failed to yield the right of way.

No serious injuries were reported, but both vehicles were badly damaged.

The crash also took out a turn signal, causing the lights at the intersection to flash for several hours.
