FORT WORTH, Texas A North Texas man with a history of assault faces up to life in prison after being convicted of killing a woman who had let him stay with her.

The penalty phase resumes Tuesday in Fort Worth for 34-year-old Frank Byrd. The Fort Worth man was convicted Friday of murder in the January fatal shooting of 39-year-old Hilary Eaton.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports prosecutors say the pair had argued and Byrd was paranoid after sleepless days on a methamphetamine binge. Further details on the dispute were not immediately available.

Byrd s former girlfriend at times also stayed at the Eaton home.

Byrd s criminal record includes convictions for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated sexual assault of a child.
