HOUSTON Firefighters acted fast to put out a house fire in southeast Houston late Monday, where a furry friend needed special attention after narrowly escaping the blaze.

The fire was reported on Susan at Roper around 11 p.m., according to the Houston Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting from the home s garage. The fire started to spread through the attic, but HFD was able to knock it out in time.

There were no injuries in the fire, but homeowners were spotted treating a cat that nearly didn t make it out. It appeared the cat just needed some air and water.
