HOUSTON The National Weather has confirmed that six tornadoes touched down in the Houston area Wednesday as severe weather rolled through Southeast Texas.

Two tornadoes were reported in Huntsville, one in Madisonville and one in Brenham. All four of those were EF0 (winds 65-85 mph).

An EF1 (winds 86-110 mph) shoved a house 50 yards in Caldwell (Burleson county) and another EF0 tornado hit in Pearland.

It is possible that the two in Huntsville were the result of the same tornado hitting twice, officials said.

Crews worked all day Thursday to clean up twisted debris that was strewn out across the pavement and other damages.Energy crews also worked around the clock to restore power to thousands of customers.
