HOUSTON -- Several lightning strikes may have sparked house fires around Houston as storms moved through overnight.

One fire was reported on Oboe Drive around 3:20 a.m. Thursday, according to the Houston Fire Department. A lightning strike knocked out power to the southwest Houston neighborhood at the same time the fire was reported.

Just three or four blocks away on Willowgrove another house fire was reported due to a lightning strike, firefighters said.

Another house fire was reported on Town Park Drive in far west Houston, and an earlier fire was reported around 11 p.m. on Roos at Pella.

Firefighters said the Roos fire was the result of an electrical issue, but the family that was home at the time blamed it on lightning.

No injuries were reported in any of the fires.
