HOUSTON -- After former President George H.W. Bush's vascular Parkinsonism left him mostly confined to a wheelchair, the always jovial Bush decided to make the best of a bleak situation.

Now, seeing the ex-Commander in Chief in a wheelchair has become synonymous with seeing him sporting a pair of colorful socks. No matter the formality of the situation, Bush has time and time again donned pinstripes, polka dots and American flags on his feet, and the public seems to love it.
