GRANDPRAIRIE, Texas Police said a wanted felon has holed himself up inside a Grand Prairie home after two domestic incidents.
Early Wednesday morning, SWAT team members surrounded the home on Family Circle, where the suspect refused to leave.
According to Mark Beseda, a spokesman with Grand Prairie police, officers were called to the home at about 3 a.m.Police were told the suspect hit someone with a gun inside the residence. Family members left the scene, but the suspect remained inside.
While the suspect initially refused to talk with police, Grand Prairie officers were able to make contact with him just before 9 a.m.
Officers at the scene said the suspect was also involved in another domestic incident Tuesday night. At about 6 p.m., police were called to a home on Appalossa Drive, where the suspect allegedly fired a gun into the air during an argument with his girlfriend. Officers arrived to the scene to find the suspect already left.
The suspect then traveled to the home on Family Circle.
Police have not revealed the identity of the suspect or details of his criminal history.
A command post was set up in the 300 block of W. Marshall Dr. and several residents were evacuated from their homes for safety.
Schools in the area haven't been impacted.
