GALVESTON How much does it cost to feed the City Council? During the last fiscal year, the price was more than $400 every time the council called a meeting at City Hall.

According to receipts obtained through the Texas Public Information Act, the city secretary s office spent $13,590.48 ordering takeout meals during Fiscal Year 2012-13.

Of that amount, $11,608.65 was spent on meals that accompanied council meetings. During the fiscal year, the council had 34 posted meetings. Records indicate that the secretary s office ordered food for 28 of those meetings.
