HOUSTON -- Two men accused of pistol-whipping a woman and taking her car were arrested about two hours later on the south side of town, Houston police said Wednesday.

The carjacking happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday on Binz Street, according to the Houston Police Department.

Officers said two men ran up to a woman and pointed a gun at her, demanding her car. She tried to stop thesuspects, who then hit her in the head witha pistol before speeding away in her car.

About two hours later an HPD officer spotted the stolen car on Scott Street. A brief chase ensued before the men pulled into an apartment complex and tried to run away on foot. Two officers chased down the suspects.

Police said the men still had the gun used in the alleged carjacking.

Police said the woman who was pistol-whipped was treated by paramedics at the scene.
