WEST, Texas H-E-B is supporting evacuees and emergency first responders in West, Texas by sending a mobile kitchen to the area and donating much-needed meals and water to those affected by the plant explosion.
The H-E-B Mobile Kitchen and disaster relief team will be serving three hot meals per day for as long as needed to first responders, impacted citizens, emergency management staff and volunteers who are supporting the recovery effort. Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., lunch from Noon to 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
H-E-B s disaster relief response is a component of its Helping Here philosophy, which is the foundation of the company s philanthropic giving.
Additionally, H-E-B has integrated into the incident command post supporting local emergency management and law enforcement. Food, water, snacks and medical supplies have been donated to local hospitals and nursing home facilities along with baby items such as diapers, formula and bottles to families displaced by the explosion.
H-E-B has launched a disaster relief donation campaign for stores statewide to send relief through the Red Cross to the displaced families in West. Customers will have the opportunity to add a donation of $1, $3 or $5 to their total grocery bill at the registers. One hundred percent of the donations will go to the American Red Cross and its emergency relief efforts in West, Texas.
Additionally, H-E-B kicked off the campaign with a $50,000 donation to the Red Cross to help this community.
