HOUSTON This Saturday marks the start of a long-term construction closure on the Katy Freeway, said the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Starting at 6 a.m. Nov. 3 crews will close one inside mainlane on the freeway westbound from TC Jester to Washington. The lane won t reopen untilDec. 15.

TXDoT says the closure is needed so crews can construct a sign column between the east and westbound lanes.

Crews will also close two inside mainlanes on the eastbound side this Saturday only from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
