HOUSTON Tuesday morning brought cooler temperatures to the Houston area, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

Early morning temps were in the upper-50s and low-60s.

Taking a look at the forecast, expect increasing cloud cover, said Johnson. So we ll have mostly cloudy skies throughout the day today with a temperature around 76 degrees at lunch time.

Moisture west of the city could bring spotty showers to the viewing area in the afternoon hours. Tuesday s forecast high is only about 81 degrees.

Looking to Wednesday, a 20-percent chance of rain remains and the temperatures jump back into the mid-80s.

On Thursday and Friday, we get more relief from the heat as we head into what should be a beautiful weekend.
