HOUSTON The next few days are going to be hot and steamy in the Houston area.

Highs will be in the upper 90s with no chance for rain.

Wear plenty of sunscreen and keep an eye on your kids and your pets if they re going to be outdoors, because it is brutal out there, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul said.

We're going to flirt with record heat, said Paul. Not so much tomorrow, but Thursday and Friday.

Some relief from the heat might be on the way with the arrival of a cool front late in the weekend.

This is the real deal, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist said. We ll be below 90 degrees Sunday and Monday.

We re continuing totrack Tropical Storm Leslie in the Atlanic. It is a slow-movingstorm with maximum sustained winds of 65 miles per hour for now, but it could intensify to a Category 2 hurricane heading to Bermuda, perhaps by the weekend. It will not affect the United States.
