HOUSTON A homeowner is facing a lawsuit after a young man died at his home during a foam party.

Cypress Ranch high school student Ryan Spikes, 18, was hit by gunfire last month after a fight broke out at the party.

At least 400 people paid admission to attend the event after an invitation spread through social media.

The lawsuit claims that the homeowner and party promoter were negligent because they did not have a party permit from the city and because the event lacked security.

Police still do not have a suspect in the shooting.
