HOUSTON -- Houston's oldest park is set to get a $2 million makeover.

The state parks department is giving the city a million dollars to make improvements to Sam Houston Park downtown.

The city is matching the grant with a million dollars of its own.

The park includes several historic buildings that were home to the first settlers in Houston.

It has been around more than 100 years.
