HOUSTON - Water from a broken pipe flooded portions of Westheimer Road about two miles west of the Galleria early Tuesday.

A water main broke overnight, forcing officials to block off all but one westbound lane near Stoney Brook Drive.

As of 7:45 a.m. crews were still working to repair the line, although the water had receded a little.

The Houston Public Works Department says workers hope to have the line repaired by 5 p.m. Tuesday -- just in time for the evening rush hour.
