AUSTIN -- Tens of thousands of people are flying into Austin onThursday for the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is bracing for the busiest arrival day of the F1 weekend. Airport officials are anticipating 36,000 travelers.

ABIA made adjustments throughout the airport to accommodate the crowds. Crews are using both the upper and lower decks to divide incoming traffic based on travel plans.

Commercial flights were scheduled to begin landing at 7:30 a.m. The arrivals will continue throughout the day with the last commercial flight scheduled to land at 11:56 p.m. Thursday.

Private planes are also expected. The airport enacted a reservation system to help coordinate the additional flights. Federal TSA agents are expected to help process the crowds.

From the airport, travelers will be heading out around Austin. Capital Metro is offering shuttle services to downtown Austin. The buses circulate every 15 minutes.
