Cypress woman accused in murder-for-hire plot appears in court
A Cypress woman accused of trying to hire a restaurant manager to kill her husband appeared in court Thursday morning.
According to court documents, on January 17, 2012, Brittany Martinez began talking to a Casa Ole restaurant manager about problems she was having in her marriage. She told the manager that she wanted to kill her husband Adrian Martinez, a Houston firefighter, and wanted him to do it.
She offered to pay him $500 up front and $1,000 to $2,000 when the job was done.
On February 4, 2012, court documents reveal that Brittany Martinez stopped by Casa Ole and dropped off $500 as a down payment.
At that time, the manager told her that he didn t want to commit the murder, but he would find someone to do it.
She responded by telling the manager that she didn t want to meet the person who was going to commit the murder.
On March 4, 2012, the restaurant manager told prosecutors that Brittany Martinez contacted him again and told him that she wanted the husband killed soon. She explained that she took money from the bank account and didn t want her husband to notice.
Investigators moved in and arrested the wife.
Brittany Martinez remains in jail with no bond.
