HOUSTON -- South Post Oak Road southbound was slow early Wednesday due to an overturned big rig and fuel spill.
The accident was reported before 4 a.m. just south of the South Loop at W. Bellfort. As of 8 a.m. crews were still working to remove the truck's load of auto parts and upright the vehicle.
Traffic was backed up to the South Loop, and drivers were adivsed to use Braeswood or Stella Link as an alternate route.
The truck driver reportedly told authorities a mechanical failure caused the crash. His truck flipped onto its side, spilling fuel.
A hazmat team was called in to clean up the fuel, and another truck was brought in to remove the load of auto parts.
