HOUSTON Investigators arrested two people suspected of running a marijuana grow house operation in the Richmond area.

Agents with The Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force conducted an investigation of the indoor operation at a rented residence in the 25000 block Canyon Crossing Drive, which is located in the Westheimer Lakes subdivision.

After a period of surveillance task force agents obtained a search warrant and it was executed on Sept. 11, 2013. That s when they said they found a sophisticated indoor marijuana operation being conducted in five rooms of the residence.

Agents found a total of 481 marijuana plants, along with indoor growing lights, scales, water pumps, fans, electrical ballasts and assorted equipment used for manufacturing, packaging and selling of marijuana, investigators said.

Hoi Van Tran, 53, and Ngoc Hong Mccubbins, 57, of Port Arthur were booked into the Fort Bend County Jail on first degree felony charges of Possession of Marijuana.

Investigators said the marijuana seized at the scene had a street value of approximately $864,000.

Tran and Mccubbins remained in the Fort Bend County Jail Monday, each with a $15,000 bond.
