AUSTIN, Texas -- Strong storms moved through Central Texas Wednesday evening leaving behind some damage, mostly in South Austin.

Strong wind ripped the roof off a portable classroom building at Bedichek Middle School. Crews worked late into the night to get things patched up. A tarp was seen covering the roof early Thursday morning.

In the same area the wind brought down a few trees. Trees fell into the road on both Empress Boulevard near Davis Lane and Hazen Lane in the Grand Oaks neighborhood.

The storms knocked out power to about 6,400 Austin Energy customers. Nearly all of them have had power restored.
