PASADENA, Texas - Two Pasadena ISD buses were involved in a three-vehicle collision Friday morning, according to a school district official.
According to PISD, the accident happened at about 10 a.m. when a lost load of wood obstructing the freeway forced one of the buses to serve and hit their breaks. The bus following applied his brakes and swerved to avoid hitting the bus in front of him, thereby, hitting a pickup.
Two students initially complained of injury and were transported to a local hospital by EMS, the district said. Later, three other students complained and will be evaluated by EMS.
Five PISD buses were traveling together transporting students from Melillo Middle School on a field trip, the district said.
