HOUSTON A 30-year-old man was critically injured Thursday night after crashing into a guardrail on the Eastex Freeway, according to Houston firefighters.

A pickup truck was traveling northbound on the Eastex Freeway at the North Loop around 9:45 p.m. when the driver lost control and slammed into the metal guard rail on the right shoulder.

The driver was pinned inside the truck and had to be extracted by HFD. He was then airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
