HOUSTON A 16-year-old boy who was shot after attempting to sell rims advertised on Craigslist is speaking out for the first time.

I just remember my brother screaming, You OK? said Alex Hernandez, while surrounded by family members at Ben Taub Hospital in the Houston Medical Center.

Hernandez and his 21-year-old brother were shot multiple times and left for dead at a northwest Houston apartment complex on February 23.

Investigators said the suspects responded to the brothers Craigslist advertisement.

I thought I was going to take my last breath, said Hernandez. While I was breathing I was just remembering everybody and my family and all the memories we had.

Hernandez suffered three gunshot wounds to the upper back. His brother was shot in the face.

Detectives with the Harris County Sheriff s Office have arrested one suspect and are still searching for others.

They re expensive rims but it doesn t make any sense to try to kill someone over them, added Hernandez.

The Craigslist website urges customers to always take precautions.

But Alex Hernandez believes it s not worth the risk.

I wouldn t want my brother to do it, said Hernandez. And I wouldn t want my family to do it.

Both brothers are expected to make a full recovery.
